How new people get started, go to
our JOIN page:
(How to become a Screened Applicant.)
New people simply first go to our
Join
page and follow -ALL- the instructions on that page from top
to bottom.
To apply to our Club you do not
have to be the best player in the World (all though we do have
some really great players), but you do have to be a friendly,
helpful, mature, loyal adult and be able to FOLLOW
INSTRUCTIONS, especially the instructions on our
Join
& Rules page.
Our Club is about having fun, building a great Club, and
helping people as our time allows. A lot of our Members are
very busy with jobs, family, and sometimes school too. We
understand that people have busy lives, but you can only be
part of this Great Club and benefit from it if you really want
it and do your unselfish part, other wise go play with the
kids and deal with them and that stress.
;-)
After you send in your completed
Join
application, we will review your application within a few days. If your
application does not pass the initial review, we will respond
to you and let you know that you won't get in by email. If your
application does looks like [TiC] material, we will contact
you by email and schedule an interview with you. If you pass
the interview
(takes about 1 hour),
you
will become a "Screened Applicant" and
will be given several ICQ contacts of our guys/gals and access to one of
our Club's Roger Wilco channel and limited access to the [TiC]Private
Area. Our Members are our greatest assets, so we make new
people work for those contacts.
In games, we treat all Screened Applicants,
Guests, and Members the same, recruits are not feed
mercilessly to machine gun nests unless we are all doing it.
;-)
In our Club, you have to be at least a [TiC] Member before you
can state your opinion on issues, this rewards and elevates
the opinion of the hardest workers in our Club. Read all of
this page (Clan Structure) and our
Rules
page to learn all of the other requirements, privileges, and responsibilities of the various levels of our Club
and the "DOs and DON'T DOs" of our Club to get and keep you on
the right track here.
Before you get yourself in trouble by making comments about
our servers, please read the Rcon Guidelines
and Rules page
as the privilege to commenting on our servers must first be
earned and you must be at least a Member. Sorry, but
we don't need a new comer reinventing the wheel and we would
rather not listen to any squeaky wheels, our Club was founded
5 June, 1999, we have figured out all this clan stuff a long
time ago. A Clan is about teamwork and compromise for the good
of the whole.
Membership has it's privileges.

How to become a [TiC-G] GUEST:
For a Screened Applicant to become a [TiC-G] Guest,
they simply have to study the
Rules
and this page (Clan Structure),
then ask a Council Member to schedule a time so you can take the [TiC-G] Guest Quiz
(takes about 1 1/2 hours), which is given by a Council
Member. If the Guest passes the Guest Quiz, they are then officially a [TiC-G] Guest and get
more ICQ contacts of our crew and RW channels and can have a "clan job"
like "Instructor" or "Event Coordinator" and they are then authorized to wear the "[TiC-G]" tag.
If the Screened Applicant fails, they simply have to retake
the test starting over at their last missed questions a few days later.
The [TiC-G] tag lets everybody in the [TiC] Clan know that the
person wearing it cares about our Club and it's Members and has
taken the first steps to becoming
a Member of our great Club. A [TiC] Guest is still not a
Member of the Clan yet, but they are on their way.
For more details on getting a
clan job after you become a
[TiC-G] Guest, see these pages: Help us, Events Department, Training Department.
Once a [TiC-G] Guest gets a
clan job they can then attend the Staff
Meetings.

How
to become a [TiC]
Member:
WE WILL TELL
YOU WHEN YOU WILL GET YOUR TRY OUT:
To get a chance at a TRY OUT and to progress from
being a [TiC-G] Guest to [TiC] Member,
you must EARN a TRY OUT. You must PROVE to
the Council Members (who actually give you a TRY OUT), that you are ready to assume a role
of leadership in the Clan and serve as
an example to the other Screened Applicants and Guests.
At Clan Meetings, all the
Members that show up will discuss who they think has earned a
TRY OUT, the Department Managers also comment on who they have
seen helping in and around their Departments, it is the Council
Members that decides which [TiC-G] Guest has earned their TRY OUT
though. The Council Members will then contact that [TiC-G] Guest and
schedule their TRY OUT and announce it in the Clan's forum for
everyone to see.
The Clan then gets together at the scheduled time and gives that Guest a TRY OUT
(takes about 2 hours), if the Guest passes, they then take
the [TiC] Oath and are officially initiated into the Club at
their Initiation Ceremony (crowbar knifing ;-) by the Council
Members, [TiC] crew, and other knife wielding maniacs on the server at that time
;-). They are
then officially Members of the MiGHTY [TiC]'TALK is CHEAP'
Clan and get to wear the prestigious [TiC] tag. The Council
Members then post the official announcement at the [TiC]
Forum for all to see. The Council
Members then issues the new Member the full ICQ Contact Lists of our
Club, access to all our RW channels, access to our Roster, and
they can then attend our Clan Meetings. If the new Member has
earned it, they will be issued Rcon password(s) to our
game servers too. If there are openings and they have earned
it, they could be offered a Department Manager job.
Once you become a Member you are allowed to state your opinion
on issues around the club and about our servers (see the Rules).
All [TiC] Members can and should attend Clan
Meetings. Clan Meetings are where we candidly discuss past
problems and discuss possible solutions and plan for the
future of our Club. What is said in a Clan Meeting,
stays in a Clan Meeting and is a secret of the Clan. Members
are allowed to state their opinions there as time allows in
the Clan Meeting, but they first have to show up for them ;-).
If you are a [TiC] Member and have a clan job, not only are
Staff Meetings mandatory but so are the Clan Meetings as part
of the extra responsibility of the job.
YOU HAVE TO EARN A TRY OUT:
How long a person stays a [TiC-G] Guest before earning a TRY OUT is dependent on your
maturity level, your participation in the
Clan, your level of performance in games,
your TEAMWORK, and most importantly your overall --WORK
contribution-- to the Clan. The purpose
of the [TiC-G] Guest level is to allow the new person a
chance to orient themselves to life in the [TiC] Clan and to teach
them how to play as
part of a TEAM (as a reflex) and later to lead the team
by example in games and to give them the
opportunity to earn a TRY OUT. Teamwork and pitching in are the secrets
behind the success of the MiGHTY [TiC]'TALK
is CHEAP' Clan. Everyone around our Club should be
donating at least 10% of their gaming time back to helping our
Club, it is a mandatory requirement and makes our Club what it
is.
This Club has the BEST group of
people you will ever come across online, it's no accident,
it's because of our extremely highs standards that each Member
has to adhere to and the never ending unselfish
contributions of our Member to our world class Club over the
years. Some say we are like the Delta Force of
online gaming because of this. [TiC]Clan is an Island of
hope in a sea immature online butt holes ;-). If you want to benefit from
our World Class Club and a [TiC] TALK is CHEAP Membership,
you first must earn it. ;-)
We expect all our Members to know how to play as part of AND to organize
a team under fire, both on and off the servers. This includes
participating in others' OFFICIAL TRYOUTS, helping them
configure Roger Wilco, ICQ, helping out with mic checks,
and helping the Department Managers to
resolve any concerns or problems that
they might have. You
have to help to train other Screened
Applicants and [TiC-G] Guests. You should also help in "policing"
the clan, pointing out (kindly) any
errors or breach of rules of ANYone. You should be
indicating your commitment to the Clan by assisting with
some of the more time consuming and less desirably tasks. You must have a
"clan job"
in the [TiC] Clan, like Event Coordinator, Instructor, script writer, logo maker, ICQ Expert, RW Expert,
informal gamer organizers (invites people
into games and picks servers and reads IPs),
[TiC] web page maker, etc. You MUST be
HELPing with SOMEthing in the Clan.
Not only should you be conducting yourself
properly as a [TiC-G] Guest before you get a TRY OUT, you have to actually PROVE you can
conduct yourself at the Member level -BEFORE- you will
get a TRY OUT. You must have not only always played as a team, but
you should have actually been showing you can lead by example in and out of
games, keeping teams even, teaching others, helping
others, and --WORKing-- for the
Clan before you get a TRY OUT.
You won't have Member level privileges before your TRY OUT, but you should be
investing some of your time by helping the Club as if you
are a Member to prove that you really want it. In general, you
should be doing a LOT of WORK for Clan weekly to show you are
willing to sweat for this fine Club. You should
EXCEL at leading the Club by example, especially at items
like "20 minutes in charge" Classes, were you lead
and coordinate the team in games, evening the teams, enforce
the Rules,
use Roger Wilco to motivate and coordinate the team, and
making sure that anyone on our RW plays on the same
side and PLAY AS A CLAN at all times. Needless to say, you
should have been conducting yourself in a
mature manner at all times without any
conduct problems or 'issues' or any acting up in the
recent past.
At Clan Meetings, the FIRST QUESTION that the Council
Members are going to ask is:
1.
"WHY should that person get a TRY OUT, list the things they have done
for the Clan?"
2. "Have they stayed out of trouble?"
3. "Have they always been 100% loyal to the [TiC]Clan?"
You must have proven you have always 100% LOYAL and
DEDICATED to the MiGHTY [TiC]Clan, EVEN
IN TROUBLED TIMES.
You must KNOW, honor, obey, and help enforced -ALL-
of the [TiC]
Rules.
You must be "knowledgeable" in RW and ICQ and how to
play the games at expert level as a TEAM. Note, it says "as a
team". You must have proven
you can organize and lead TEAMS.
DON'T MAKE SENIOR MEMBERS
MAD:
Just so you know, the SENIOR [TiC] Members (Members, Department Managers, Council Members) are
usually covertly asked
their individually opinion about a potential TRY OUT
of a Guest as a courtesy (behind
the scenes over ICQ and at Clan Meetings) to coordinate the
Club's actions and to avoid ill feelings and to
allow Members a 'chance' to give feedback. Heavy weight
is placed on the opinions of the Department Managers and "Workers" of the
Clan.
ONLY THE BEST OF THE BEST BECOME a [TiC]Clan Member:
If you do get a TRY OUT and pass it,
you will have reached a step that few
every do or ever will, becoming a [TiC] Member is
something that you will never forget.
Only about 1 out of every 150 applicants sticks to it and
survives the gauntlet to become one of the few the proud a
Member of the MiGHTY TALK is CHEAP Clan! Congratulations if you make it to
becoming a New [TiC] MEMBER ! You will
be empowered to help many others inside
and outside this World Class Club, most of all everyone
including yourself will know you earned it!!!

How to get a "clan job":
You have to be at least a [TiC-G]
Guest before you can hold a "clan job", the reason is you
should know our
Rules and understand the Clan Structure
before you can lead at an operational level, passing a [TiC-G]
Guest Quiz proves you know our Rules and Clan Structure. If
you have a Clan Job you should be attending Staff Meetings
even if you are only a [TiC-G] Guest. Staff Meetings are where we
create the monthly training plan. [TiC] Members with clan jobs
should also be attending Clan Meetings. As a [TiC-G] Guest you
can become an "Instructor" (Training Department)
or "Event Coordinator" (Events Department)
at our Club. The clan job of "Recruiter" (Recruiting Department)
is restricted to Members only, because of security reasons. To
become a [TiC] "Rconer" of our game servers, you must earn it
first plus you have to be a [TiC] Member. "Rconer" is a highly
regarded
privilege and responsibility that hardworking Members are
rewarded with. Staff Meetings are scheduled by the Council
Members and announced on our
Event Calendar,
we plan out the Classes and Events of our Training Plan
there until the next Staff Meeting. Generally, a "clan job" requires at least 1 1/2+
hours of work for the Club each week, plus attending the
Meetings.

How to become a "Department Manager" and what do they do:
Only [TiC] Members that have had a
clan job and done a great job at it, attended all Clan and
Staff Meetings, showed 100% unselfish loyalty, will be offered
a Department Manager job. When a Department Manager job
is open, the Council Members will offer the job to the most
senior hardest worker. Council Members will discuss it amongst
themselves and then contact the selected person and offer them
the job and discuss the responsibilities and the guidelines of
the job and what will be expected from them. Department
Managers are required to attend ALL Staff and Clan Meetings. Usually,
when there is a need for a Department Manager, the Council
will post and ad on the Forum advertising the opening.
Department Managers hire and fire the workers in their
Department (they can't kick them out of the Clan, they can
just give clan jobs in their Department). Department Managers
advertise job openings in their Departments in our forum. For more
details, see these pages: Events Department, Training Department, Recruiting Department.
Generally the job of
Department Manager requires at least 2+ hours of work for
the Club each week, plus attending the Meetings.

How to become a "Council Member" and what do they do:
Council Members handle the most
stressful tasks of the Club and all the tasks that fall thru
the cracks. They are the guys/gals who oversee the whole [TiC]
Clan and are responsible for generally how the Clan is run and
the general conduct of the Clan. All Clan Members answer to
the Council Members on any issue. Only Council Members can
give an Interview, TRY OUT, issue passwords, or kick
someone out of the Clan. Event Department Managers are
specially authorized to issue the Event Calendar password
to the workers in their department (Event Coordinators). It takes the
approval of all the Council Members to
make someone a [TiC] Member (TRY OUT) or give them a "Job Title"
(such as Department Manager) or kick then out of the Clan.
You have to have done the job of Department Manager and done a great job
at it, attended all Clan and Staff Meetings, showed 100%
unselfish loyalty, and when a Council Member job is open the
Council Members will discuss it amongst themselves and offer
the job to the most senior hardest worker. Council Members
will contact the person and discuss the responsibilities and
guidelines of the job and what will be expected from them as a
Department Manager.
Generally the job of Department Manager
requires
at least 5+ hours of work for the Club each week, plus attending the Meetings.
[TiC]Big, [TiC]Wheelman, & [TiC]EVIL are the current Council
Members.
