Rules of the Mighty [TiC] TALK is CHEAP Clan:

Our Club created these general guidelines to address many aspects of our Club, from organizational issues such as new members and passwords, to keeping up the web site to challenges from other clans, etc. The [TiC] Clan's Rules page is a handy way to find the answers to just about any question about how our Club is ran. If the info on our Club you are looking for is not on this page also a see our Clan Structure or our About us pages. If you have a questions about game servers see Rule #35. For more info on joining see our Join page.

These guidelines are by no means made to make Members feel that they have to play with only [TiC] Member or have to play a certain number of times a week. Since we all have other responsibilities other then playing Half-Life, we only ask Members to follow the basic rules that we ourselves follow.

To help us all react as a team in a unified way and so that everyone in and around our Club will easily be able to understand what is expected from them by the Club and what to expect from others in and around our Club, we have created a very effective set of general guidelines for all of us to follow. [TiC] Clan's Rules:

1.  HAVE FUN:

Have fun, meet new people, and don't worry about being a newbie or not being a great player or having the most kills. Just be a friendly person. Treat other players as you want to be treated, i.e. with respect and understanding. Feel free to play with [TiC] Members as often or as little as you like. We do ask that you are loyal to the [TiC] Club 100% of the time.

10apr03
2.  LET US KNOW / Post Messages / Meetings:

Screened Applicants, Guests, and Members should post a message every few weeks (at least) on our forum just to let us know you are still around and active in our Club.  If you are going to be away from playing for a while, please post a little note on our Clan Forum, something like "I am Going on vacation, see you in 2 weeks" or " I am still alive", etc.

Generally, if you have a complaint about a [TiC]Clan activity, policy, or a Member, contact a Council Member, but before you cry too loud, just know that the "hardworkers" in this Clan are highly valued over any whinner. ;-). If you are a Member, show up for a Clan Meeting so it can be discussed there too if desired. Eventually, all old problems must be buried as constantly digging old things up will only stink up the place. ;-)

If you are a [TiC] Member, please attend the Clan Meetings. There are no required meetings at this time unless you have a clan job. Clan Meetings are where we discuss the details of how our Club is run, Members need to make time for them and show up for them if they want to have a say in the policies and future of our Club. We have a rule about the [TiC] Clan Meetings, "What is said there stays there", this allows us to openly discuss delicate Clan or personnel issues there in an open forum to our Members only, but Members do have to make time to show up to discuss items there.  ;-)

Crybabying continually and constantly will not get you your way around here, if any thing, it will get you kicked out of the Club. If you then still persist crybabying, it will get you banned off our servers. We are all here to have fun together, "communicating then compromising" for the best of the [TiC]Clan and keeping things running "smoothly" is one of the secrets to our Clubs success.

If you do have a clan job, you are required to attend Staff Meetings (even if you are only a [TiC-G] Guest). Staff Meetings are were the workers in our Club discuss the needs of our Club and the past month's performance and then plan the next months training classes and events.

See our Event's Calendar for time of the next meetings.

To make sure you stay out of trouble, make sure you read the rule about our servers and the rule about Membership and stating opinions before you comment about issues around our Club.

17apr03
3.  POST YOUR QUESTIONS:

If you have a problem or question, look around our site first for the answer, if you can't find the answer simply post your question on the [TiC] Forum.

To make sure you stay out of trouble, make sure you read the rule about our servers and the rule about Membership and stating opinions before you comment about issues around our Club.

The [TiC] Department Managers and Council Members are required to read the [TiC] Forum every day, so be patient please? They will deal with your problem as soon as they get to it. Members or Guests or Friends of the Clan will also be able to read about your problem and might also be able to help you if they can, that way too. Also, you might have several people help you at once, that way. Also, other people might have the same problem as you and this way several people might be able to be helped at once.

If no one has helped you a day after posting your message, then ask a Department Manager or a Council Member if you have to. Ask for help if you need it, but please do not waste their time.

Do NOT bug a Council Member with your individual piddly problems like "what is the hit points of the fussgun", as this Clan is ran SOLELY by volunteers, the Council Member try to direct their time and effort towards major problems and [TiC] Projects to ensure the smooth operation of this fine global Clan.

NOTE: (EXCEPTION) All personal questions should be sent directly to a Council Member. You do NOT have to post personal questions on the Forum.

Remember to say "PLEASE" and "THANK YOU" when some helps you.

5apr03
4.  DO NOT POST SPAM OR HOAXES:

If you have info about something that you feel is valuable (a URL, demo, program, technique, etc., etc.) please share it with the Clan, but please be careful, do NOT SPAM us though on ICQ or email or the forum, etc. "

Do NOT forward any ICQ messages that warn about:

a ""NEW VERSION of ICQ""

or messages that say anything like:

""If you do not forward this message in the next 5 minutes, ICQ will delete people from your ICQ Contact list"".

These are ""HOAX"" messages ,,,,they are SPAM ,,,they are FAKES !!!

("SPAM" is a term used to describe junk mail or junk messages that you get over the internet).

We have the Clan Forum for posting tips and tricks. It's also a good place to post long explanations or descriptions or requests for help or the solutions to your problems.

10apr03
5.  DISTRIBUTING FILES:

NEVER SEND A FILE UNLESS THE OTHER PERSON ASKED FOR IT:

The [TiC] Clan -NEVER- distributes unsolicited files, we do -NOT- have the time.

NO one in the [TiC] Clan will ever distribute -ANY- file to another Member, Guest, or Screen Applicant , --UNLESS-- that person specifically requested that specific file to be sent to them.

Only transfer a copy of a file to another [TiC] Member, Guest, or Screened Applicant when there is absolutely no other way to get that file.

Rather then send files, send web "LINKS" (that you know go to "clean" web sites) to download the file, whenever possible.

Files and download sites are only "clean" if YOU have virus scanned and checked them. Pictures ARE files of some type.

If you get any file (from ANY one) you did not specifically request, ALWAYS ASSUME IT IS A VIRUS.

5apr03
6.  IF INFECTED BY A VIRUS:

WATCHING FOR VIRUSES:

There is a daily threat of being infected by "viruses" (virii), "trojan horses", "worms", malicious programs, malicious scripts, INFECTED FILES, bad code, etc, etc. Viruses can be sent through emails, "ICQ Transfers", web downloads, hackers that bust into internet systems, floppies, networks, internet connections, sometimes CDs, etc, etc. EVERYONE will be on guard for any "strange happenings" on their individual computers that they suspect might be caused by a virus. If you hear of any new viruses, post a message about it on the Forum, if none are posted yet.

IF YOU GET INFECTED:

-IF- your email program is INFECTED, do --NOT-- use your email program to contact other people, you will simply SPREAD the virus in your warning email to more people. If you fear that even turning on your computer might spread the virus MORE through your email, use a friend's computer to post a message on our Forum. ISOLATE the infected computer as soon as possible. "Physically disconnect" any cables connecting the infected computer to the internet if possible to keep "auto-mailer" viruses from spreading themselves when you are not here until you clear up the infection.

Anyone that is infected or thinks they are infected by a virus, trojan horse, worm, "internet bug", etc, or any other strange happenings, is required to POST a MESSAGE on the [TiC] Forum as soon as possible alerting us. In your post, include WHEN and WHERE and HOW you think you first got infected and the SYMPTOMS of the virus and WHO ELSE might be effected.

BE SAFE NOT SORRY ABOUT YOUR EMAIL:

Emails should be sent as "text" to avoid malicious "javascript" and java applets and image  trackers and other web exploits / hitch-hikers.

It is OK to send simple ICQs and Emails "messages" to advertise [TiC] events or to conduct other Clan activities, just don't include any attached files.

NEVER click on any email attachments without first virus scanning them, no matter what the email message says.

Simply reading some infected emails can infect you with a virus. It is a good tip to turn off "Preview"  and set security settings to their highest and most restrictive settings in Outlook Express.

Some spam sites send out html emails with images in them, the images are located at the spam emailer's servers that tracks and validates and re-distributes your IP number and your email address, thus by reading the spam you get more spam.

17apr03
7.  TiC TAGS WILL HELP:

When playing games please use the [TiC] or [TiC-G] tags in front of your name (if you are authorized that tag). This will allow us to find Members using gamespy. It will also distinctly identify us to others on our servers. Feel free to play games by yourself, but by playing on [TiC] servers with [TiC]Clan Members you will show your support for our Club and help us attract attention to our club and help it grow.

5apr03
8.  NO RANK TAGS IN TIC:

There are no "Ranks" or "Rank Tags" allowed in the [TiC] Clan.
(Example : there are no "Captain GunMans" or "General GunMans").

If someone already has a Rank as a part of their game name, then that will be allowed.
(Example: "Captain Courageous", "Colonel Klink", "General Patton", "Sargent Rock", etc, etc would be allowed).

There are NO "TAGS" allowed in the [TiC] Clan other than: [TiC] and [TiC-G].
(Example: there are NO "[TiC]Sgt.Gunman" or "[TiC]Capt.Gunman" or "[TiC]Gunman[DS]", etc, even if someone is a Department Manager or Council Member).

If you are on a [TiC] Clan Roger Wilco Channel or [TiC] game servers, please always use your [TiC] tag and your regular game name.

5apr03
9.  USE ONE NAME :

Please change your GAME NAME, your ROGER WILCO NAME, and your ICQ NICKNAME to the SAME NAME and only use that one game name.

If you use your ICQ account professionally, and do not want to change your ICQ Nickname to your Game Name, then please get another ICQ account (it's free) for your Game Name .

If 2 people use the same computer, it is okay to use both of their names and to abbreviate their names for the Roger Wilco Name and the ICQ Nickname. Just put a "/" between the names. (EXAMPLE: If "mOnKeYbOy" and "[TiC-G]GunMan" used the same computer, just change the ICQ NICKNAME to "mOnKYb/TiCG]GunM" and change the Roger Wilco Name to "mOnKeYbOy/[TiCG]GunMan"). ICQ lets you use up to 19 characters in the ICQ Nickname. Roger Wilco lets you use up to 27 characters in your Roger Wilco Name. Another way to solve this ICQ Nickname problem, is for each person to get their own FREE ICQ account.

We have this RULE to make it a lot less confusing for everybody, they only have to use or learn ONE name for each Member that way.

5apr03
10.  CAN NOT BE IN ANOTHER CLAN:

You can NOT be in any other clan and be in the [TiC] Clan.

(EXCEPTION: The exception is you can help run the [yW]YoungWARRIORS Clan.) [yW] Clan is an ALLY Clan of the [TiC] Clan, or rather [yW] is actually the [TiC] JUNIOR Kid's Clan or the "YoungWARRIORS of TiC".([yW] is currently not ran by [TiC]Members at this time.)

11July00
11.  MEMBERSHIP HAS ITS PRIVILEGES / STATING OPINIONS:

Only Members are allowed to "state their opinion" on anything around our Club, this keeps the "whining" to a minimum around our Club.

Only [TiC] Members are allowed to attend Clan Meetings. "Clan Meetings" are usually held Monthly and usually advertised well ahead of time. Clan Meetings are not mandatory. Clan Meetings are where we try to discuss the hard issues in our Clan first. Show up for them if you are truly interested in the direction of our Clan. Even though we do not "VOTE" in the [TiC] Clan we do "TRY" to discuss any issues or needed changes at Clan Meetings as time permits.

"Clan Meetings" are not the same thing as "Staff Meetings".

24Sept01
12. NEW PEOPLE AND NEVER GIVING OUT PASSWORDS:

If you are a [TiC] Clan Member, Screened Applicant, or Guest and have a friend you want to bring on [TiC] RW, have your friend apply and "REQUEST a TRY OUT" on the "JOIN" page. All new people are screened 100%, no exceptions.

Council Members are the --ONLY-- ones that can "screen applicants" and pass out the [TiC] RW channels. Council Members are also the only ones that can make someone a [TiC-G] (a "Guest of the [TiC] Clan). Council Members give "Screen Applicants" a "[TiC-G] Guest Quiz" that they think are "TiC material". --IF-- a "Screen Applicant" has followed ALL of the instructions on the JOIN page (REQUESTED a TRY OUT , installed all the required bind, has all the required items, has read -ALL- of the Join page and the Rules page) and passes the [TiC-G] Guest Quiz, THEN a Council Member will AUTHORIZE them to use the [TiC-G] TAG and officially announce it on our forum.

Guests do -NOT- get "2 cents" in the [TiC] Clan,
ONLY [TiC]MEMBERS are allowed to state their "opinions" about issues. If you want to have a "say" around the [TiC] Clan, you will need to EARN a TRY OUT and become a [TiC] Member first. Occasionally,  Council Members will ask "everyone" their opinion on an issue and will address the question to "Screened Applicants, Guest, Members" (example: "Does everyone like the Dust map?".)

NEVER give out a [TiC] Clan password or secret URL (web address) to ANYone including other Members of the [TiC] Clan, Department Managers, or even Council Members.

To ensure that NO one is ever TRICKED into sending their password out to a hacker, NO one is allowed to "second hand" give out Passwords or SECRET URLs (web addresses).

To ensure that our Members are following this very very important Rule. From time to time the [TiC] Clan will -attempt- random security checks to "try and trick" [TiC] Clan Member's into sending them their passwords .

YOU DO NOT WANT TO GET CAUGHT GIVING OUT A CLAN PASSWORD TO ANYONE !

Passwords will come from only one direction, from Council Member to you you. (Exception: The Department Manager in charge of the Event Department is authorized to give out the password to the [TiC] Event Calendar to "Event Coordinators" in their department.)

Membership in the [TiC] Clan has its Privileges.

5apr03
13.  ARE YOU AWAKE ?:

If your belt buckle is bigger than your polynoodle you will not be allowed to become a [TiC] Member (a wavier will be offered if you have a T1 line game server). [TiC] members will NOT be required to get the Official [TiC] Logo tattooed on their butt. Child molesters will not be allowed to become [TiC] Clan Members, EVER. Goat rapers will not be allowed to hold any High Offices here at [TiC]. Rule #13 is put in here to assure that your are reading these very important rules.

1Dec99
14.  PLAY AS A CLAN:

ALWAYS "TRY" to play together as a Clan and play on the same team when possible and use Roger Wilco as a team. Please alert your Team Members (by Roger Wilco) to enemy threats (sentry guns, spys, camp intruders, flag locations, who has the flag, etc) (but do -NOT- wall shoot).

We normally play on
[TiC]Clan Servers to show our support for our Club when ever possible.

We usually play on the blue team in Half-life mods as our default team, but sometimes we might play on the other team if the maps are not symmetrical. In HL mods like Counter-Strike, DoD, etc, the first person that "loads" into the game should say over RW what side they are going to. The others on our RW channel should try to join the same team, and politely ask people that are not on our RW to "switch" to the other team. In Counter-Strike, or other games like it, we do not have a "Default [TiC] Team", so just try to play together as a Clan on whatever side the majority wants to play on at that time. Try to make everybody happy.

Before leaving respawn always say your game name and which direction you are heading to over RW so the other players on our RW channel will know what you are doing.

If you are on the offense and PICK UP the enemy flag/key -OR- if you DROP it, you are REQUIRED to inform your teammates (by Roger Wilco) of it's location. Same goes if you have the hostages or are guarding a bomb on a map in another game, basically play as a team with everyone on that RW channel.

The single purpose, that everyone is either "IN" or ALLOWED to "HANGING OUT" around the [TiC] Clan Roger Wilco channel is to

"PLAY AS A CLAN", PERIOD !

The [TiC] Clan is not a personal catering service.

EVERYONE is EXPECTED to play fairly and act maturely and to USE Roger Wilco as a Clan WHILE they are on the [TiC] Clan Roger Wilco channels and hopefully have fun doing it. ;-)

10apr03
15.  HOW TO EVEN TEAMS:

( BEFORE YOU SWITCH: )

A. If at all possible, ALWAYS STAY on (or "TRY" to get EVERYone on) the [TiC] Clan Roger Wilco channel, on the SAME TEAM of the game server (this must be a CONSCIOUS and CONSTANT effort of ANYone on the [TiC] Clan Roger Wilco channel.)

B. IF the teams are "UN-EVEN", everyone should ask people (that are NOT on the [TiC] Clan Roger Wilco channel (by their game name)), to PLEASE SWITCH over to the OTHER team. Please include the word "PLEASE" when you ask.

C. If a "NON-Roger Wilco guy" switches teams to even teams, everyone, should please type a "Thank you" to them afterwards.

D. If SEVERAL people help by asking "NON-Roger Wilco guys" to switch over, 80% of the time, the teams will get evened this way, and everyone on our Roger Wilco channel will be on the same team.

( SWITCHING TEAMS: )

E. IF you absolutely have to go to the other team to even them, DO NOT GET OFF OUR ROGER WILCO CHANNEL. YOU are required to announce that you are going to the other team over the Roger Wilco channel, but STAY on the [TiC] Clan Roger Wilco channel.

Make it clear to everyone on the Roger Wilco channel that you are changing sides  by saying "This is -insert game name-, I am on the xxxxxx team" (remember you're still on the Roger Wilco channel and so can hear and be heard by the 'enemy' team when you switch.

( COMING BACK: )

F. IF YOU are the one that switches to the enemy team, --YOU-- will be RESPONSIBLE for making sure, that AS SOON as possible, YOU come back to the [TiC] Clan team, even if you have to kill yourself to do it. YOU will have to be CONSTANTLY WATCHING the teams for an opportunity to switch back to our team, try to do that -BEFORE- new people completely load on to the server. You might politely ask others to help you too. It may be necessary for a few of our players to temporarily go to the red team for a while until more non-TiC get on the server. If a Senior Member of the Clan tells everyone to re-group to the chosen team at anytime, you should immediately move back over to that team, even if you have to kill yourself to do so.

10apr03
16.  MEET PEOPLE AND HANGOUT ON ROGER WILCO:

You might like to hang out on the [TiC] Clan Roger Wilco Channels, even if no one else is on it, because [TiC] Members can drop by any moment. The [TiC] Roger Wilco CHAT Channel is a good place to meet the Members and introduce yourself to them, its where we "hangout". Its a good place to find people and get into a game. This shows your support for and interest in our Clan too. This is how the Clan "gets together" and meets up for nightly games.

Now many new games are offering "in-game voice chat", usually RW and these features can be used if simultaneously if  you like, but the Clan all use RW.

26apr04
17.  ROGER WILCO VOICE ACTIVATION & SPEAKERS:

Please do NOT use the VOICE ACTIVATION feature of Roger Wilco -IF- you are using SPEAKERS, PLEASE. The sound from your speakers will be picked up on your mic and will cause (unknowingly to you)  Roger Wilco's voice activation feature to retransmit your game sounds to EVERYBODY else on that Roger Wilco channel. THIS IS VERY ANNOYING and is considered rude.

Voice activation that is properly adjusted and used with a headset mic is okay.

5apr03
18.  ANNOUNCE YOUR SELF ON ROGER WILCO:

When you come on to the our Roger Wilco channel, please announce yourself by saying "This is insert game name, hello everybody". If you have to leave the computer, please announce that also. Just say "This is insert game name, I'll be back in XX minutes". When you leave for the night also let people know you are leaving the Roger Wilco channel. If people are in a game, they do not know who is on Roger Wilco all the time, because they can NOT SEE the Roger Wilco screen, they do not know who is coming or going, unless you say something. Please try to be courteous to your fellow Roger Wilco'ers.

Dead people on our RW channel should -NOT- help others to use RW to wall shot other players, this is cheating.

5apr03
19.  ROGER WILCO CHATTING & GAMES:

Administration of the [TiC] Clan is the #1 top priority in our Club and supercedes all other uses of a [TiC] RW channel, even gaming. Administrating the Club sometimes must be done when and where people are at, even if that means talking while people are in a game on the [TiC] RW Chat channels. Sorry, but the Club come first at [TiC]. ;-)

Generally, if their are other people on the Roger Wilco that are in a game, please try to keep the general bullshting, flirting, tech talk, etc, (non-game talk) to a minimum. If you want to discuss a non-game topic with someone on Roger Wilco while other people are trying to play a game, please create a private Roger Wilco channel or go to a [TiC] Roger Wilco Spare Channel (a person must be a Guest or Member to use these other [TiC] channels), then come back to the Roger Wilco #1 Chat Channel when you are ready to play.

If a lot of people are on the [TiC] #1 RW CHAT Channel doing a mix of activities (chatting and playing games and mic checking), please suggest the chatting people create a RW or move the chatting to a [TiC] Roger Wilco Spare Channel. Inform everybody of what you are doing.

If there are 2 or more sets of people playing different games, the second set of people to start playing a game should go to [TiC] RW channel or create another RW channel.

Clan and Staff Meetings, take priority over games as do Events and Classes, etc.

17apr03
20.  HOW TO PICK A SERVER:

ALWAYS TRY to play on [TiC] Clan servers whenever possible. See our
[TiC]Clan Servers page for the IP numbers. If the [TiC] servers should be off line or totally empty, it's ok to play on other servers. It's not mandatory to play on [TiC] Servers, but it is helpful to promoting our Club.

If you are the one that is picking the public game servers for us to play on, ALWAYS make sure the game server has enough room for everybody that is on our Roger Wilco channel by always making sure the game server has at least  -DOUBLE- the capacity ("Max Players" ) of the number of people that are on the Roger Wilco channel.
(EXAMPLE: If you have 8 people on the Roger Wilco channel, you will always have to pick a game server with AT LEAST 16 slots )( 8 of us on Roger Wilco ,,,,PLUS ,,,8 opponents to play against,,, equal 16 players on the server).

Always make sure the game server has at least 1 1/2 times more OPEN SLOTS available than the number of people on the Roger Wilco channel, that way the slow pokes will be able to get on that server before it fills up as people connect to it.
(EXAMPLE: If we have 8 people on Roger Wilco, look for a server that has at least 12 OPEN slots so that all 8 of our people will have enough time to join the server before it fills up with others.)

Always look for dedicated game servers that are NOT password protected with a good ping that do not have odd ball maps.

17apr03
21.  WHO READS IP numbers:

If you are the one designated to pick the game server IP's, YOU need to WRITE down the server IP -AND- the server NAME. That way, when "later comers" join the Roger Wilco channel, you will be able to give them the game server IP and name. (Some of our newest members might not have Game Spy yet).

Also by you having to write the numbers down, it will assure that you do NOT read out the IP numbers TOO FAST for the people who are listening on Roger Wilco for them.

If YOU PICK the server, then YOU are OBLIGATED to READ that IP out when someone asks for the game server IP WITHIN 15 SECONDs.

-IF- ANYone asks for an IP for the game, AND --AFTER--- 15 SECONDS nobody else has started reading out the IP, THEN --YOU-- should volunteer to read out the IP for a newcomer.

All Screened Applicants, Guests, and Members are required to write down the ip numbers of all [TiC] servers when they applied to join our Club, so usually you can simply identify which [TiC] server you are playing on by server name to save time.

10apr03
22.  RE-KEYING ON ROGER WILCO / READING IP numbers:

Tell people how many times you are going to RE-read it before you start.

Each of the 4 parts of an IP number are each called an "OCTET". Each octet has a " . " (dot) at the end of it. When reading the game server's IP, press your Roger Wilco transmit button, then wait a second then read the first octet ( VERY SLOWLY), then say "dot', then wait another second, then release the transmit button, then RE-press the transmit button, then wait a second , then read the second octet, then say 'Dot', then wait a second, then release the transmit button.,,,,,keep repeating this until all octets have been read. Read the complete IP number AT LEAST 2 times or more if needed.

With team members all over the World, some people might not hear the transmissions as clear as others, talking slow and re-keying will help them.

10apr03
23.  DEFAULT PORT NUMBERS:

The "default port" for a Half-Life game server is 27015. If the server you picked is using the default port, just say "its using the default port", do NOT read the default port number out. Its less confusing and saves time. IF someone doesn't know what the default port number is, THEN read it to them.

1Dec99
24.  WRITE DOWN IP NUMBERS:

If someone else is reading out the IP numbers of a game server TO YOU, YOU need to WRITE the IP numbers down, that way if your computer locks up you will not have to have the IP number read to you again.

GameSpy free software that is handy and helps you to find others in games.

1Dec99
25.  DO NOT INTERRUPT SOMEONE READING IP NUMBERS:

If someone is reading out an IP number it is considered VERY RUDE to INTERRUPT them (especially when it might be 7 other people are trying to hear it ). DO NOT INTERRUPT when some one is reading an IP number, PLEASE !

1Dec99
26.  TRY TO SET A GOOD EXAMPLE (CORRECT OTHERS IF NEEDED):

The everyone should try to set a good example for the Clan and other players (in personal conduct/ [TiC] Loyalty /Recruitment / Training/ Events/ particapation). All of us should KICK some BUTT when we play together ! If someone needs help please help them. If someone needs "CORRECTing", please politely correct them if they are breaking the Rules.

10apr03
27.  TRY NOT TO CUSS:

Please TRY to keep the swearing, cussing, profanities, name calling, whining (i.e. about lag) to a minimum. Remember YOU will appear to represent ALL of us if you have the "TiC" tag in front of your name. Please TRY to set a good example in the chat rooms and in games and public forums. Try to keep the cussing to a minimum on the Roger Wilco channels and in text at other places.

28.  TRY NOT TO BE RUDE:

TiC Clan Members joke around with another a lot, please try not to be too rude or annoying to one another. Try to keep it one big happy family please.

29.  HACKERS AND CHEATERS ARE GONE:

If you hack [TiC] Clan member's computers, you will be IMMEDIATELY kicked out of the clan, we will then "DEAL WITH YOU". (NOTE: we have Several Computer Security Experts, please don't test us.)

Anyone caught cheating will more than likely be instantly kicked out of the Clan.

30.  TELL ON THE BAD BOYS:

If you feel that someone in the [TiC] Clan is not conducting themselves properly, please bring it to the attention of the Council Members. The Council Members will correct a Member who is not acting appropriately.

Major problems should be brought to the attention of the [TiC] Council as soon as possible. If needed the Major Problem will removed from the Clan. Clan Meetings are usually allotted an "open mic" time to discuss these and other types of issues.

31.  DON'T BLAME US:

The TALK is CHEAP Clan can in no way be held responsible for an individual Member's actions.

32.  TAKEN OFF THE ROSTER :

If no one has heard from a [TiC] Clan Members in over a 1 month, or if you have not been seen in a game on the [TiC] Clan Roger Wilco for at least 3 times in the last 2 months, then we will take that Member's name OFF the [TiC] ROSTER.

If you are going to be busy for a couple of weeks and want to stay in the Clan, all you have to do is to simply post a message on the Forum to that effect EVERY couple of weeks.

The Clan does NOT have the resource to track down Members that do not have the time or consideration to post a 10 word message every 3 weeks.

To be a PART of the Clan, you have to PARTICIPATE with the Clan, you have to PLAY with the Clan, YOU HAVE TO HELP THE CLAN.

People that are REMOVED from the ROSTER are welcome to reapply, but our passworded  RW channels are for exactly that, Screened Applicants, Guests, or Members ONLY. If you get REMOVED from the ROSTER for INACTIVITY, you will have to RE-APPLY to get back into the Clan.

This REWARDS people that show up and help out and are thoughtful enough to post a message AT LEAST EVERY 3 weeks.

If you are going to be gone for a while, say like on a trip to Botswana for 2 months, PLEASE leave a message on the [TiC] Clan Forum if you want to STAY in the [TiC] Clan.

People that are "never around" will simply be REMOVED from the ROSTER.

33.  IF YOU LEAVE:

If you decide that you do not want to be in the [TiC] Clan anymore please email the Council, so you don't get Clan messages everyday. We encourage one last clean post on the [TiC]Private Forum for you to say goodbye to everyone. If it's nasty or rude, it gets deleted.

Anybody leaving  the Clan will no longer get access to our passworded [TiC] Clan Roger Wilco Channels. Alone playing on our servers will still have to follow our RULES.

People that 'move on' to join and start other clans are NOT welcome on our RW or Forum any longer. These "TOOLS" are for the perpetuation of OUR Club and for the WORKING Members and future-Members of the [TiC] Clan.

People that TRY to recruit people away from the [TiC] Clan will receive a PERMANENT LIFE TIME BANs off any and everything [TiC]. The same punishment holds true for ANYone that hinders our Clan's recruitment efforts, "bad mouths" our Clan, or HARASSES us, etc.

34.  HARD WORKERS ARE REWARDED AND WANTED:

From time to time [TiC] Clan Members might be evaluated on their past performance and selected for [TiC] Clan Positions of Authority.

35.  [TiC] SERVERS CHANGES AND RCONING:

-BEFORE- you make -ANY- suggestions or requests or comments about any [TiC] Clan Server or setting on it, go -READ- the complete [TiC]
Rcon Guidelines page FIRST.

If a [TiC] Member WANTS SOMETHING CHANGED on a [TiC] Server, post your "suggestion" on the [TiC] Forum.
Members and NON-members do -NOT- ask/bug/contact "Server Owners" directly to make changes on their servers, that is the job/ responsibility of the "[TiC] Rconers". "[TiC] Rconers" do the DAILY Rconing and act as liaisons for our Server Owners to the rest of the World. The "Server Owners" are busy and are not to be bothered.

If you need a "Rconer" for a [TiC] Event, post your request for an [TiC] "Rconer" on the [TiC] Forum with the Event's type, time, and date.

If you have an idea for a major change ( i.e.. map cycle, map rotation change, game change, adding or subtracting a map, other server adjustment, more "allowed commands", etc) simply post your "suggestion" on the [TiC] Clan Forum. Explain why you think that this would be better than the current setup.

Even [TiC] Rconer's need to post their individual server suggestions on the Forum for approval.

Once your "server suggestion" is posted on the [TiC] Forum (this allows -ALL- the [TiC] Members a chance to offer their "opinion" on that topic), the Council Members will approve or disapprove it and possibly delegate a [TiC] "Rconer" to contact the "Server Owner" to make any approved changes.

[TiC] Rconers will always follow the [TiC] Rcon Guidelines
.

36.  CLAN MATCHES:

All Official challenges for Clan Wars will be handled by the Council Member in charge of [TiC]  S.O.G..

Direct ALL Challenges for Clan Wars or Tournaments to the "Clan Matches" link at the bottom of this page. They will be either accepted or rejected there.

The [TiC]Clan's SOG will keep track of our accepted challenges AND rejected challenges, WINs AND loses of both Clan Wars and Tournaments.

If you want to try out for S.O.G., go to the [TiC] SOG web page and send a e-mail explaining that you want to try out for S.O.G. (include your game name on the e-mail).

(We currently do not have an active S.O.G. team.)

37.  HOW TO HELP THE [TiC] CLAN / GIVING BACK 10%:

If you want to help the [TiC] Clan, GO READ the HELP US PAGE.

Everyone (Screened Applicants, Guests. Members) are EXPECTED to help back the Clan 10% of their gaming time with us. That means that if you play with Clan for 5 hours, you should give 10% of that time (30 minutes) of help back to the Club in some way.

Before you can hold a "Clan Job", you have to become at least a [TiC-G] Guest in our Clan. This is so  know our Rules and Clan Structure to avoid problems. If you have a "Clan Job", you can attend the monthly "Staff Meetings" even if you are only a [TiC-G] Guest.

When we give 'interviews' or "[TiC-G] Guest Quizzes", we try to give new people a "direction" and instructions about how they can use their talents to help the Clan. If you want a "Clan Job", READ every bit of the RULES, RCON GUIDELINES, and Clan STRUCTURE pages THOROUGHLY, then post a message on the Forum titled "I WANT TO HELP THE [TiC] CLAN". List what days and what times you can help and what your talents are.

If you are a Guest, try to help out with "existing" [TiC] functions if possible to help out and to stay out of trouble. Our Club is large and very complex, with time you will learn the ins and out of it, until you are a Member,
please don't try "re-inventing the wheel", as a Guest you are not allowed to even suggest it yet.

Only Council MEMBERS can issue "Authority" in our Clan. The Members "IN-CHARGE" of [TiC] Departments ("Department Managers") (i.e. Training, Events, Recruitment, etc) can give a Guest or Member a "Clan Job" in their Department (i.e. Instructor, Recruiter, Event Coordinator, etc).

Our Clan is based upon "EARNED AUTHORITY", that means you have to -WORK-, before you get to boss.

38.  A CLAN IS GIVE AND TAKE:

Ask your self from time to time "What have I done for my Clan and for fellow Clan members lately ?"

One of the many advantages of a Clan is the help that flows freely, so PLEASE HELP when called upon with all reasonable requests AND feel free to ASK for HELP yourself.
