HOW to
JOIN the MiGHTY [TiC] Clan:
Hello, are you tired of the rift-raft on
the internet? If you are, you need to join the MiGHTY [TiC]Clan,
because we screen applicants to keep the rift-raft out. ;-)
The MiGHTY [TiC] TALK is
CHEAP Clan primarily uses Roger Wilco (RW) (free internet voice
software) to
communicate by voice and we sometimes use ICQ (free instant text messenger
software) if we need to send text. Some of our Members also
use the "in-game voice-chat" features of the various online
games too from time to time. We also use email or post
on our Forum as needed too. We normally hang out on [TiC]
Clan's passworded RW channels and get in same games that
way, that way we are not bothered by loud or rude people
;-). You will need those
free programs (Roger Wilco & ICQ) downloaded, installed, and
properly adjusted BEFORE you
can be initially interviewed and become a Screened
Applicant. The Screened Applicant level is designed to gear up new players and
get them accustomed to our Club's culture and for them to
learn about our Club and learn our compete Rules and Clan Structure. Once a Screened Applicant passes the [TiC-G] Guest Quiz,
they can start to earn their way into our
Club as a [TiC-G] Guest by helping out and can then eventually become a Member.
The [TiC]Clan has evolved a lot since we were
originally founded way back on 5 June, 1999. We
have gotten a lot tougher to get in and made major
changes along the way, especially since November
2000. In April, 2003 we made a major cluster of changes to
our Club.
To JOIN the MiGHTY [TiC] Clan, just follow
the -ALL- instructions below on the "JOIN the [TiC]
Clan CHECK LIST".
A Council Member will help you, if you need
any help with anything below.
Friendly, helpful, mature, loyal adults are
always welcome here at the [TiC] Clan, as
long as they follow our RULES.
It usually takes a while (at least 1-6 months)
to get into the [TiC] Clan, but that is not
a problem as you get to play with us if you
pass the initial interview and become a "Screened Applicant" (remember
good things are always worth the wait). Our Club is a
"long term Club", we are well established and very stable,
and we have been around for YEARS!
We are one of the oldest online Clubs and we plan on being
around until God calls us home ;-). If you want to get
in sooner, do a lot of work and stay out of trouble.
;-)

(Make sure you read our

Get lCQ
downloaded and
installed and get an ICQ # number.
(its totally free).
|
3.
|
Get Roger
Wilco downloaded
and installed and correctly adjusted.
(its totally free)
|
4.
|
Change your Half-Life Game Name,
your Roger Wilco Name, and your ICQ
Nickname to the
SAME NAME, if needed.
If you
use ICQ professionally (for work),
and do not want to change your ICQ
nickname on that account, just get
another ICQ Game Name account for
gaming. They are free.
If you share your computer with
someone else, just put your name and
the other person's name both there (abbreviate
if needed, maybe use a "/"
in between) for the Roger Wilco Names.
For ICQ just get separate ICQ
accounts to solve this problem.
You MIGHT (its totally optional) want to get a free E-mail account at
Bigfoot (or maybe a
free hotmail.com
account)
with your Game Name, that
automatically forwards your mail. The
extra email account is -OPTIONAL-,
but a good idea too. This will enable
you to have your GAME Name in your

A. Council Members will review
your "REQUEST A TRY OUT"
application.
B. -IF- your JOIN APPLICATION passes the
initial review, THEN, in a few days, you will be
contacted and given your first interview
on a temporary RW channel by a Council Member.
C. -IF- you pass that interview, THEN you
will be given access by a Council Member
to the "[TiC] Clan #1 Roger Wilco
CHAT Channel" (getting access to the
[TiC] Clan's RW CHAT channel literally
makes you about 1 out of 30+ applicants.)
D. You will get a partial ICQ contact
list of some of our Members and send your ICQ contact to
those Members with a message announcing what the Council
Member is doing.
E. The Council Member will ask you to

days on our Roger Wilco channel, this is
so we can get to know you, and you can get
to know us. We normally play on
[TiC]Clan Servers. You do not have to be a
Member yet to play with us, you just have to
follow our Rules. We will see how well
you play as part of a team on our RW. We will make
sure you act like a mature, helpful,
friendly, loyal ADULT. We will observe
how well you FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS. We will
watch for your contributions to the Clan.
(Don't
forget to introduce/announce yourself
on the [TiC] Clan Roger Wilco
Channels even to the people you don't
know when you come on or leave
the RW channel.)
(You are expected to play on the SAME

You need to
install
the [TiC]Clan's MANDATORY Half-Life
Message Required Binds. They are used in Half-Life and
all its "mods", like TFC, or
Counter-Strike, etc, etc. The installation
page has more info. Ask a Council Member if you need

When a Screened Applicant thinks they have
studied the Rules and Clan Structure well enough, you
need to notify
a Council Member to schedule a "[TiC-G] Guest Quiz". A
Council Member will be covertly checking you out in
games the
first week or 2 or 3 to judge your character.
-IF- you seem to be someone that follows
instructions well and plays well as a
team and has been making a positive
contribution to the Clan, a Council Member will MAKE SURE you have
installed the 'Required binds' and have
READ the 'About US', 'Clan Structure',
'Required Items', 'Help US', 'RULES' and
'JOIN' pages and then give you the "[TiC-G] GUEST
QUIZ".
and THEN, IF you pass the [TiC-G] Guest Quiz,
he/she will make you a "[TiC-G] GUEST"
and AUTHORIZED you to put the [TiC-G] tag
in front of your Game Name, Roger Wilco
Name, and ICQ Nickname.
(The
Council Member will inform the other
[TiC] Clan Members by putting a
message on our Forum about giving
this person the [TiC-G] tag. The
Council Member will also send all the
other Council Members
an Email too.) The Council Member
will tell the brand new [TiC-G] about
the 'GUEST' Page.
The Council Member will hand out your ICQ number to
SOME of the [TiC] Members.
The Council Member will give you some of
the members ICQ number by sending
you a partial ICQ Contact list.
The Council Member will send an ICQ to
the other Council Members about you.
The Council Member will correct the [TiC] Private Area.
You can then volunteer to hold a "clan job".
|
| 10. |
After being a [TiC-G] "GUEST"
for AT LEAST about a month (usually anywhere
from 1-6 months)
period,
-IF- and -WHEN-
all Council Members thinks you are ready for
a TRY OUT, a Council Member will
contact you
to schedule your TRY OUT. Usually the [TiC] Members
discuss this in a Clan Meetings whether they think you have
earned your TRY OUT or not. It takes the approval
of all Council Members to let you in.
It might be in 4 WEEKs, it -might-
be in 4 MONTHs + +, it might be never.
Not everybody that REQUESTS a TRY OUT
gets one, we "screen" our
Applicants and they have to EARN their way into our Club.
(We typically require someone getting a
TRY OUT to previously have hosted/co-host
AT LEAST several "Events" for our
Clan, more is better and you should have
ALWAYS showed loyalty and maturity. It
shows that you are willing to put some
'sweat' into our MiGHTY Club).
|
11.
|
AFTER the first 10 steps
have been completed,
--THEN-- a Council Member will give you
your
OFFICIAL TRY OUT.
(The TRY OUT takes about 1 1/2 hours to 2
hours .)
|
12.
|
--IF-- the Council Member says
you "PASSED the TRY OUT",
THEN you will be OFFICIALLY INITIATED into
the [TiC]Clan .
(Includes
Loyalty Oath to the [TiC] Clan)
A. "Do you want to JOIN the
[TiC] Clan ?"
B. "Do you promise to always
be loyal to the [TiC] Clan?"
THEN:
You will be an OFFICIAL Member of the
MiGHTY [TiC] Clan !
The Council Member will then make the
OFFICIAL Announcement that you are in
the [TiC] Clan on the [TiC] Clan Forum.
He/she will also send all the Council Member an email
too.
That Council Member will then tell you give
you your 'Security Briefing' about
the [TiC] Clan SECRETS and how to guard
them. You will THEN be given the FULL
[TiC] Clan ICQ Contact List and the full [TiC] RW
access and access to the Roster.
After you pass the "[TiC] RCON Class" you will then
get the rcon passwords issued to you to our game
servers.
You will then get full access to the Roster.
You will then add the [TiC] tag to
your Game Name, ICQ Nick-name, your
Roger Wilco ! ! !
Everyone
will CONGRATULATE YOU ! ! !
You will be a PROUD [TiC] TALK is CHEAP Member !
HURRAH HURRAH HURRAH ! ! !
You will have the support from the
MIGHTY [TiC] Clan Army !
You will probably be tough enough to
drive nails with just your bare fist
! ! !
