![The BEST of the BEST train and teach here. One of the incredible benefits of being a Member of the MiGHTY [TiC]Clan is you get to be a part of this of our World Famous Training Program!](http://www.ticclan.com/events-projects/images/tic-university3.jpg) |
The prestigious [TiC]
TRAINING Department:
(Also known as [TiC] University)
There are a few main
ideas behind the training events:
Gain a better understanding of maps/classes.
Gain a better understanding of basic TEAMWORK.
Gain a better understanding of tips and
tricks.
Gain a better understanding of the [TiC] Clan
as a whole and HOW we work.
The students should graduate from this
program with a specialized ability to fight
as a cohesive team. A person will be able to
fulfill multiple objectives in multiple
classes. A graduate is someone you would go
to war with, because you know they will cover
you under fire, and they know what they are
doing.
The students are here for an even larger
purpose though. Even though we are not
teaching the rules and clan structure
outright we DO TEACH them through our
behaviors. Graduates will have a better
understanding of not just WHAT the rules are
but WHY we have them. It also develops better
leaders.
In short the students will have a better
understanding of HOW and WHY we fight the way
we do, but more importantly, they will get a
better grasp on the blueprints, and scope of
the
MiGHTY [TiC] Clan. They will know which
direction to work towards once they are done,
thus resulting in increased Clan productivity.
The [TiC]University Plan:
We have Monthly Staff
Meetings to get all the "workers"
of the Clan together once a month to PLAN the
next month's training and the Event Dept.
posts all this info on the Event
Calendar for us.
Usually, we follow the same maps and techniques
or "themes" each week so that the
skills and strategy can be linked together
each week from week to week and mod or game
to game.
The MOST Important Things about the [TiC]University:
Always SHOW UP,
unless you absolutely can't (they are
non-mandatory Practices). No one
wants to play in a small group. If
TiCers jump online and see a team of
5 or 6 of us that are ALWAYS there
theyll be more inclined to stay
and learn.
So SHOW UP please!
Always
ADVERTISE! Send group icqs,
email, and Forums
posts. Anything that will get
peoples' attention to show up.
Always PRAISE
the training events. Even though it
may not always be fun, you should ACT
like it is a TON of fun all the time.
Tell people what they missed and say
oh well dont miss it next
week
Follow the
pre-established guidelines for each of
the training events as laid out by
the "Instructors".
Enforce the
Rules and Clan Structure. Everyone is
here for an organized event, show off
and show them all your ready to lead.
Class Topics and
Planning:
A typical [TiC] University "Team Leader
for 20 minutes" Class is fairly simple
to run during the events. You simply as
participators offer advice, tips, tricks,
strategy, anything on the map or a class your
using. It is order less mayhem. People run
everywhere but thats the point. We are
all trying new, different things so
exploration of the level (or trying the
taught techniques) are necessary. Let then run and learn.
But ALWAYS try to get EVERYONE to share there tips and know
how. Other ways we teach are we wait to see the size of the
group that shows up to play. 8 or less we
open up a server and play TOGETHER, SERIOUSLY
against the public. 8 or more and we lock a
server and split into two teams. No matter
which route we take we always follow this
structure. After we have teams we devote a
LEADER to command EVERYONE into what class
and role to play. Every 20 minutes we stop
the action and pick a new LEADER to run us
all. Basically everyone gets to lead and
learn for 20 minutes. The battle atmosphere
lends itself to TONS of FUN, because everyone
gets to actually lead we get that leadership
and comfort experience for a lot of people.
THERE ARE MANY OTHER CLASS TOPICS and
teaching techniques, the above is just an
EXAMPLE.
Scheduling RCONers to control a [TiC] server
will allow the practices to run smoother.
However we will give you specific instruction
sometime on RW in person. We appreciate any
that are helping us, all will help us get
better. So in the meantime advertise,
Advertise, ADVERTISE. If you have any
suggestions just yell them out.
VOLUNTEERING:
If you want to
volunteer, simply post a message on our Forums with
what times and dates and how often and what
you want to help with. We will assign you as
needed.
[TiC]
"TRAINING Department" Responsibilities:
[TiC]Wheelman is currently the
"Department Manager"
in charge of the [TiC] UNIVERSITY "TRAINING Department". The [TiC]
Clan's Main TRAINER's RESPONSIBILITIES are:
- Weekly re-occurring
scheduled training (currently
consisting of (2) weekly classes) and
coordinate the Instructors that teach these
Practices/classes.
- Finding volunteers as
needed to help with 1 1/2 hours
"Weekly Practices", by
getting Members, Guests and Screen
Applicants to volunteer to help him
as needed for "3 month tours"
or more. Finding (3) Instructors per
"Weekly Practice".
- Preparing a "MONTHLY
Training Plan" that addresses the
[TiC] Clan's most pressing needs, by
consulting [TiC] Instructors,
RCONers, Council Members, Department Managers, Members,
etc. This "Monthly Training Plan",
is done before or AT a monthly STAFF
MEETING for the NEXT month's Training
Plan to prepare the TiC Clan for the
next month (next 5-6 weeks) ahead. To
keep the Weekly Classes reliable and
fun while increasing the TEAMplay
skill of the clan.
- Brief the Clan as needed
at monthly CLAN MEETINGS and STAFF
MEETINGS. Designate "backups"
as needed in his department.
- The person in charge of
the "Training Department"
should spend about 2 hours each
week on the [TiC] Training
responsibilities. "INSTRUCTORS"
should spend about 1 1/2 hours each week
preparing, advertisings, and hosting/co-hosting
their class. Most classes run about 1 1/2
hours.
