WHAT is a MyTuner™ and "Roger Wilco Channel Switchers" ?

MyTuner™ is a free 3rd party add-on accessory program that is used in conjunction with the free "Roger Wilco MARK 1D r3" (or earlier version, shareware or registered) internet voice communication software program to enable the user to switch between different Roger Wilco channels without having to leave a game to do so. This feature is also known as 'in-game hotkey switching". Clans, guilds, squadrons, and clubs all of the internet and world use this software.

Roger Wilco "Channel Switchers" are NOT written by the fine people at RogerWilco.com, they are written by 3rd party volunteer programmers that are trying to ADD features to the free Roger Wilco MARK 1C voice communication software program. The Roger Wilco "Channel Switcher" software programs are known by several names : "RW tuners", "RW HOT KEY switchers", "RW channel changers", "RW Plug-in", and "MyTuner", etc, etc.

MyTuner™ was originally released on 29 August, 2000 as Alpha version .0.0.3. The newest version of MyTuner is Beta 1.0.1a (11 October, 2002.)

WHY would someone need a "Roger Wilco Channel Switcher" ?

The ability of a clan, squadron, guild, club, team members to quickly and easily SWITCH between various predefined Roger Wilco channels in the middle of an online team game withOUT having to "ALT-TAB" out of the game is very valuable. If a player is on offence, they could easily switch to the defense and change to the defense RW channel without wasting any seconds during a online game or match, simply by pressing just one pre-assigned keyboard HOT KEY.

WHO wrote the [TiC] Clan's "RW Channel Switcher" software ("MyTuner")?

[TiC]Gadgetman, a most versatile and talented person that he is, when told about and shown a "stray" copy of the "RW Tuner" software, set out to write his own version of a "RW Channel Switcher". His version, called "MyTuner" is the #1 add-on for Roger Wilco and has been downloaded an estimated 10,ooo's+ of  times.

If you use MyTuner and you would like to help the friendly guy that wrote it, please go to the author's web site and help him by DONATING 5$ to [TiC]Gadgetman. It would help him and might possibly pave the way to new improvements too. [TiC]Gadgetman asks for a modest contribution to him personally, and without him, there would be no MyTuner. The original version was an Alpha version .0.0.3 that has since been updated by [TiC]Gadgetman to the beta version 1.0.1a.

The [TiC]Clan runs the "MyTuner Project" that includes supporting and advertising about this free utility and updating it as time permits. We do it simply it to help the online gaming community. We started this Project clan wide at our Clan on 22 September, 2000 and almost all of the feedback has been  very very positive."

2. Install MyTuner on any computer running the client version of Roger Wilco (Mark1a,1c,1d,etc). "MyTuner" software comes pre-configured for some OPEN test RW Channels at www.RogerWilco.com, but can be RE-configured to YOUR club's available Roger Wilco channels. To configure MyTuner to your channels, just read the MyTuner Manual for info on how to edit your channel info into your MyTuner's "Tuner.ini" file. Please test it on the PRE-configured channels first. Sometimes these open RW channels are temporarily off line, consider this when testing MyTuner.
   
   
3. ONCE you have USED and EVALUATED the Beta  version of "MyTuner", please  come back here and fill out the MyTuner Evaluation Form with any feedback you have (positive or negative.)
